Now if That's Amore was on the list...

If you don't mind me asking, what's "That's Amore" about? I've never heard of that one.
[/quote]
How much do you suppose a That's Amore ring would go for on eBay?

It's been 13 years since I've seen it, but let's see what I can remember.

More or less, a married couple preparing for divorce goes and states their case. They each bring a family member or a friend to vouch for them. At the end, the audience votes on who they think has the better case, and whoever wins gets a nice prize (a vacation I believe). The two "contestants" each received a custom ring from the show. Oh, and each guest sat on this interesting raised platform with a thick L-shaped bar in front of them. Would love to have one just for the hell of it.

Interesting idea, but prolly about 10 years before its time. The courtroom genre was dead by 1992, trash talk shows had another three years, and reality shows another eight. ;-)

Let's see, Bill gets 1 show at #48, and there's no representation of Jack Narz and Tom Kennedy whatsoever. If they were going to include the rigged shows, Dotto had a pretty huge impact on the network games. Seven Keys should've been there too.
Ack.

This list seems to be of a controlled design targeted towards the 18-49'ers. (See: Remote Control, Studs) Most people of that age range aren't going to remember either of the last two.

NTT just hasn't had as much of an impact as the other two.

You're seriously saying that Name That Tune didn't have the same impact as friggin' Double Dare?

That's spoken like someone who wasn't alive for the Tom Kennedy (and / or those who came before him) version. Am I right?

Ah, thanks!

Sounds...interesting. Might be fun to see once or twice, but I don't think I'll go out of my way to find an ep.

Please see a new thread in the Big Board for an event designed to determine what we as fans consider to be the 50 Greatest game Shows of All Time, and please plan to do your part by coming up with your own list.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Everything right, except the divorce thing....  Luca played this for laughs and stressed that the couple of the day were in love, just squabbling at something menial. Divorcing couples was left for Ricki, Jenni, and (my fav at the time) richard Bey.

Done in today's world, it would include divorce. And who gets the stuff. Hmmm...that's a great idea for a game show proposal!

I found a listings site that has just the ranking numbers of the show(s) to be featured for the next five episodes (including Wed. night).

Would you want that posted? (Just playing it safe by asking first)

I don't think so.  Part of the fun is discovering it for ourselves each night and debating it then.  Anything else does sorta constitute a spoiler.

Thought so. I'm the same way (watching to find out). I'll probably forget these too in a good while.

Okay, you shut me up.  I was indeed born after Kennedy's run, and after doing some research, I'll admit I was wrong about the impact of NTT vs. DD.  Still, I wouldn't put it past GSN to shaft NTT.

By the way, does anyone know if they will be airing these episodes again after the first-run is over?  I just got GSN so I missed out on over half of them and it would be great to catch them during the overnight hours or something.

Actually if you could post a link or whatever to the spoilers, that'd be fantastic. Speaking solely for myself, but there might be others who agree with me, it was nice to see which shows were coming up on what nights so I knew which to tape, sit down to, etc.

And, off we go as the top 20 kicks off with...

Concentration at 20.

19 is To Tell the Truth.  It's an ep from the 70's era (with the lyrical theme song)
