Does anyone know the average payout per contestant thus far on DOND?

According to Wikipedia (I know, I know, sometimes the farthest from the truth, but it's a start)...

Quote
Average winning: $118,328.8809523 over 42 games (not including the episode when the pony was given away).

I remember seeing a site at one point that listed every dollar amount in every case from every show, and I've searched everywhere for it, with no luck.

Jeez. An average of $118,000 a contestant. Talk about Mo' Money syndrome...

I worked it out and I came up with $118,328.8809524.  Just more proof that you can't trust Wikipedia for anything.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

You also have to take into consideration the fact that not all of these shows had the standard million-dollar prize structure...which can skew an average like this, since some people's deals start out a higher level and stay there.

...which still doesn't change the fact that they're giving away too much goddamn money for a show where the contestant just has to stand there, avoid drooling on the button (and even then the button has a plastic drool-shield) and not say a number higher than 26.

/how can you tell when the DoND stage is level?
//the drool is coming out of both sides of the contestant's mouth

I agree with you. A $100,000+ win should be "special" instead of "typical".

It was on my site in the winter and spring, for December through late March/early April.  Then I fell behind between student teaching, graduation, and job hunting.  If I can get a weekend where I'm not bringing work home and I'm not spending hours upon hours with the girlfriend, I'll try to bring it up to date.
