Mark Goodson threatening to take Price to another network

I had actually heard that in 1986 when the revived Card Sharks debuted on CBS that they originally were going to give it the 4 pm slot replacing Body Language but Mark Goodson threatened to take it and Price Is Right to another network so they gave Card Sharks the 10:30 slot and Press Your Luck got moved to 4 pm.

I had never heard that, but remember what happened when Price moved from NBC to ABC?
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

That is not a legitimate source.  Before posting again, please re-read the Eligibility Requirements, especially this part:

Quote
7. False or Misleading Information

Posting information which, in the determination of the Executive Producers, is posted with the deliberate intent on the part of the poster to deceive or mislead readers, will be considered grounds for disciplinary action. Posting inaccurate information with deliberate disregard for the credibility of the source of such information will also be considered grounds for disciplinary action.
Now, if someone at the GSN boards cited a legitimate source, that's another matter, but the fact that someone at the GSN boards said it doesn't make it true.

Santa Claus is not bi-Polar.  He maintains only one residence.

My own source for the anecdote was a conversation I had with Peter Tomarken at the "Whammy" taping where the Larsen rematch occurred.  Granted, his own story may have had some bias to it, but it's hard to refute something from a primary source.

I respect the concerns of the moderators to make sure information here is accurate... which is why I thought I would share the above.  I have no idea how the story specifically made it to the GSN boards.

TPIR is a money machine. It doesn't seem plausible that Goodson would disrupt anything to do with TPIR over something of far less import such as the Card Sharks time slot. For starters, it would have put the kybosh on his relationship with CBS for good.

Thank you for that information, Mr. Hammett.

There's a reason why I didn't state outright that the story was false; obviously not everything posted to the GSN boards is incorrect.  However, when a forum has not only many active members who have no regard for the truth, but moderators who deliberately punish people who try (even politely) to correct those members, that forum cannot be trusted as a source in and of itself.

I'm sure the OP had no idea either, but now he knows that if the information is as likely to have come from one of Adam Kleist's bowling friends as it is from a true insider like Peter Tomarken, it shouldn't be presented as fact here.

(That said, if anyone has proof that Adam Kleist ever did bowl with Peter Tomarken, I will retract every comment I've ever made about Adam. :-)
