Any clue to what will be featured during this marathon on Friday? Perry? Eubanks? Rafferty? Bullard?

Any special episodes?

According to my DVR, it's all Perry.

Never mind the Bullards!

Now that we've established that it's 5 hours of Jim Perry, does anybody know if they are milestones, sequential, or just plain random eps?

I wouldn't put too much faith in the accuracy of any "generic" description for a GSN show that might appear on a DVR.  For example, the TiVo listing for "What's My Line?" on Black & White Overnight used to be "Contestants play a guessing game with host Larry Blyden."

Nope, it specifically says, "Ten episodes of the game show with host Jim Perry, who emceed the show from 1978 to '81."

Not saying it can't be wrong, but I'm sayin'. :)

First ep is the 11/17/80 ep--the opening ep of the second week of the celebrity tournament (this is the week of Marcia Wallace's classic "He changed a Queen and he won??!!").

Assuming (which is dangerous) the rest of the week and the championship week will comprise the 10 eps to be shown today.

This is a neat marathon. Nice job, GSN. Instead of showing 10 random episodes from some point in any CS run, we get a couple successive weeks of the celebrity tournament that hasn't been aired in awhile (at least as much as I remember!).

Also, for all of those anti-crunch people out there, two of the episodes were left uncrunched, and one had the fee plugs left in. It was a great marathon. Bill Daily is quite a funny player.

Did anyone tape this marathon today? My DVR acted up and a shortage on my system didn't help either..I'd be willing to make a fair offer for a copy of today's marathon. Can anyone help me?

I noticed that there was no Money Cards on the first show. Having no Money Cards round wasn't that uncommon on the CBS/Sydnicated verions of the show, but did this ever happen on a regular civilan episode from 1978-1981?

It was really fun to see this!  Unfortunately my DVR got screwed up too.  I got episodes 3 - 10, however, the last one is missing about 5 min in the middle!  I am so ticked off about that.  It was in the championship game, Meredith vs. Vicki, Game 2.  Vicki had 4 cards turned over and Meredith had 3.  Then there was a power surge and I missed 5 min or so, and when it finally came back on, they were on the first question of the tiebreaker.  Not the end of the world, but it still really ticked me off!  I hardly ever tape aything, so of course we would have a surge right at the height of the game, lol!  Not fair!

But I thought that was a nice surprise.  I did hear that there was going to be a Cardsharks marathon, but I never expected this.  I wonder if they did it on purpose since the original run was during Thanksgiving, or if they just made a mistake and showed something that made sense...either way, I liked it!  I wish GSN would give us information about the shows - all the time.  Wouldn't that make life a little nicer?  :-)

They used to, Kim. Yet as of around the summer of 2001, their web site no longer provided a paragraph or so of handy information about each episode of each show to be aired that day.

I've only had it for a few months, but I'm sure that was wonderful.  What a pain in the butt!  All they would have to do is say "Celebrities: Elizabeth Montgomery and Tom Kennedy" or whoever it was.  We could figure out the rest!  And now that the SP webpage is gone, I'm even more in the dark than I was before!
