Speaking of Shatner, he was supposed to be on the Classic Overnight showing this morning of the Gene Wood version of Beat the Clock.  Anyone have a date or at least a year on this for its original showing?

Shatner was shown prominently during this fun episode (still kills me to get used to Gene on-camera as host)
and as for when this episode was, Gene had hosted the show between 1972-1974, don't have the exact date but in that year range is when the episode was. Had to be in a healthy part of that period with the long hair and mutton chops and all.

Yes, I noticed too. It reminds me of an ep of FF where Richard signed off insisting that there was no nepotism on the show, and then every staffer's name was either Dawson or something-hyphenated-Dawson.

I originally watched the show via CKLW-TV in Windsor, so it's nice to see that GSN leaves in the "made-for-Canada" audience segment. At least I think that was just for Canada.

Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Can't speak for the Gene Wood years, but we often saw the beginning of it in the Jack Narz years.

Which leads me to assume that GSN's using the American cuts, only because the fade to black is always abrupt.  When they originally aired in Canada, was there a third break or did they go right from the audience game to the wrapup?  If there wasn't a break, then I'm sure that these are the American cuts, since I suspect the GSN intern only logged break time code on the G-T shows if it was a fade to black, a hard commercial lead-in or a fee or ticket/contestant plug.

And that whole "boss" thing had to be an inside joke between Wood and Phil Rossi.  (By this point, Phil's dad had gone west to supervise a little thing called "The Price is Right"--what became of that show?)

Having finally seen it last night, I'm leaning closer to '72 with those hairstyles and such.  I'm sure Shatner wishes this ep had been burned.

This is the first time I've ever been able to get a Gene Wood Beat the Clock recorded and I'm very happy about it.  When I was a kid this was actually my first exposure to both BtB and Wood, and I remember watching this on WTCG, Channel 17, the Atlanta indy station that evolved into TBS.  I believe WBMG, Channel 42, the Birmingham CBS affiliate also carried this version.

Well I got a few Collyer episodes of Beat The Clock and the Gene Wood version of it was icing on the cake. I would guess 1972 as well, though I thought it was earlier with the hairstyle.

Checking my back issues of TV Guide,  WPIX in NYC aired the William Shatner shows the week of 10/23-10/27/72.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

It went to Hades in a toboggan in the fall of 2007 when Dave Price began hosting the show and every production staff member with a clue either quit or was fired.

I need your help folks:

One of my coworkers was on BTC when it taped in Montreal, and it was with William Shatner.  Any chance there was a contestant named Elizabeth on this episode?

Thanks,

Ryan :)

Just a bump of this thread to remind everyone of the NYSI airing overnight tonight. Hopefully we'll see an ep from later in the run...whatever it is, I'm excited to see it.

Hey y'all....is there any way someone could put the episode up online somewhere?  I'm a fan of NYSI, but have only seen one episode.  Thanks in advance!

What--you don't have a recorder?  I thought that was SOP for anyone on this board.  :)
