The Women Who Changed Game Shows
« on: January 24, 2007, 11:02:06 AM »
Looks like this Sunday will be "The Women Who Changed Game Shows", with the usual suspects in it. Looks like we'll be seeing Friend or Foe clips for the first time in a while.

ORIGINALLY, the Saturday marathon was going to be Password Plus at 8, Weakest Link at 9, and WML? and TTTT at 10. Now, it's P+ at 8 and WL from 9-11, which to me is a little dissappointing.

Any thoughts on the special/marathon?

One so far.  How, exactly, did Kennedy change game shows?
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

They've certainly gone downhill ever since she hosted one.

Looks like Vanna's involved. If she's in, so should Susan Stafford.

And if Arlene Francis, then Kitty Carlisle too.

And, just for fun, Brett Somers and Jaye P. Morgan.

And a Fannie Flagg 'customized' T-shirt.

"The Women Who Changed Game Shows"?  All of them, when they had to give up being housewives and earn a 2nd family paycheck outside the home.  No audience=No game shows.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

It is women and I apologize after I got all of the egg and egg yolk off my face.  I can't argue with that quote one single bit.

I had no idea till now that such a special was coming.  Had it been "woman" instead of "women", I'd have assumed it would have been a show about Lin Bolen.

How did these women change game shows? Yeah, they're competent models and panelists, but they basically showed up and did what they were supposed to do.

Betty White and Meredith Vieira changed the role of women in game shows at the emcee podium. There are many women at the network level who were intimately involved with game shows whom most in the fanb0i community woudn't know about. And I've got to think Holly Hallstrom left a legacy of case law in terms of employment discrimination in her goings-round with Bob Barker.

I have a question about tonight's related marathon: what's the chance one of the two P+ eps is the "French/France" episode?  I specifically remember that one having Dick Martin, Betty White and Tom Kennedy and they all three appear in the promo.

I don't think the French episode will air, since she really didn't have much to do with that (Besides the "Everything's fine, Allen.") comment.
