Well, I'm desperately hoping it'll be a better one. :)

(Actually, that one wasn't horrible, just utterly unconducive to starting a message board discussion.)

Boy all he wanted to know was if anyone watched it. But as usual you guys have to be jerks to someone new.

Apparently, despite quoting it, you failed to read the part where I said it wasn't a completely stupid question.

Based on his earlier posts, he's under the mistaken impression that we're a clone of the GSN board; actually reading a message before replying to it isn't considered mandatory there.  He'll learn eventually.

Boy all you did was not read the topic, the quote you replied, and came close to a Rule Five violation, all in one shot.

Go back to the GSN boards if you don't like it here. No one will miss you.

I knew it was a complete boondoggle over at the GSN boards, but is it as bad as "Has anyone seen this show?" and then just waiting for "Yes, I have seen the show."? That's what IM and e-mail are for. As usual, I think I'm vastly overthinking the situation here.

Well I read what Chris wrote. He said "No! Next Question Please". It is like you guys don't care what anyone has to say unless it has to do with game shows. I don't like Poker either, but hey the guy was just trying to see if anyone here liked it. It is obvious no one does. I am not trying to be a mean person. Heck I know how it is trying to get someone to type some english. You guys know how bad it is at the GSN boards. I am not innocent in any of this. I just wanted to know why you guys can't be a little more nicer to new people. Now go ahead, Flame me.

How about you get some more posts under your belt before you try and take cheap shots at everyone else?  I won't get into how you didn't bother to read Chris's comments. What kind of discussion did the OP expect? "Does anybody watch [the show?]" It looks like he wants a yes or no answer. If he wants a discussion, he should indicate that.

Does that sound harsh? Maybe. But, I'm sick of people bitching and moaning just because someone makes a smart-aleck response. What's next, an ATGS comparison?
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

While we don't rule with an iron fist -- we've had some threads veer off-topic and no one's been disciplined for it -- you look awfully silly criticizing the members of, well, a game show forum for expecting game show talk.  Never mind that this isn't really the issue here.

I fail to see how Chris's comment amounted to "flaming."  I'd say that maybe he could have been a bit more descriptive, and had I been the one who responded, I might have.  But he did nothing wrong; as Brandon pointed out, if the OP was trying to spark a discussion, he didn't really do a good job of it.

Actually, you'd rather have us be more like the GSN boards, where people aren't expected to stay on topic or follow basic netiquette and where people actually are suspended or banned for expecting others to do so.  Heck, you found it necessary to bash us just for trying to get someone to stop breaking our rules, and you held up the "bad" GSN board as a model for us to emulate.

It seems that you're upset not because we allegedly treat people poorly for not meeting our standards right off the bat, but because we have standards in the first place.

Yes that is it. Give new people a chance to get to the Rules of the forum. Most new people don't even pay attention to the rules. Again I was not trying to be mean. I just want you guys to give the newbies here a little time to get used to stuff. I like the three strikes rule, but just don't do it right away.
