Author Topic: New TPiR MDS/Celebration of Barker Eps... (Read 2295 times)

...have now been announced. Per CBS and Golden-Road.net, two special will take place this coming May. The first, on Wednesday 5/16, will be a Million-Dollar Spectacular. The next night, 5/17, will be entitled "Bob Barker: A Celebration of 50 Years on Television". Apparently, from people who have gotten e-tix/snail mail tixs, this episode will be similar in format to the 25th anniversary special, with three games.

Both shows will start at 8:00ET.

MY TAKE:

I personally think it'll be lame if the special just focuses on Price. I have never seen Barker's work on ToC...and 18(?) years of hosting that show should not go to waste. But then, a whole generation knows Bob as the host of PiR.

There should be some footage from the Tournament of Roses Parade. I saw a stack of DVD's that had to be gone through back in November.

Also, during today show, they were asking people to send farewell videos to be possibly used on either the upcoming MDS or Barker's last week of daytime episodes.

I can imagine quite a few members here would have some rather "choice" words to say to Barker as he heads out! ;-)

No, it would be a waste of effort. Plus, as I've said before, it would require much more of an emotional investment than the whole thing is worth.

I have a feeling that this will be a more recurring feature to other CBS-related things once this is all done, like for current events and stuff.
