I guess the idea just doesn't look enough like anything that's been done on Deal or No Deal, though...which means we won't see it in Identity. Pity.

They could also have a sign with the occupation that could be placed on a stand next to the job holder so the home audience would not forget the vocation within the two minutes between the contestant's guess and the reveal. :)

Oy. Barker had to memorize about 40-70 games for nearly 2 decades, why cut the new guy some slack? This just means it'll be basically Plinko, Grand Game and other assorted games ad nauseum for the next season.

Well, not really.  When Bob started there were, what, three or four games?  While he had to learn all of the games eventually, he never had to learn 70+ games all at once right from the start as the new host would have to do.

Exactly. They could bag a dozen of them with barely anyone noticing. Clearance Sale, for example. Joker. Secret X. Barker's Bargain Bar (which presents an obvious problem anyway).

Still, given that O'Hurley and Hamilton have been actors who presumably learned lines, it doesn't seem THAT hard to prepare for the job. And Newton's young and energetic, so he shouldn't have any trouble either.

Doug Davidson only had to learn 9 games: Plinko, Clock Game, Hole in One, Make Your Mark, Grand Game, 3 Strikes, Golden Road, Cliff Hangers, and Safe Crackers (ten, if you count the showcase range game).

You know, I know very little about Davidson's version of the show, but I'm willing to bet he started out with more car games than Golden Road, 3 Strikes, and Hole in One.

Davidson's show had more than 9.  Race Game and Magic # were 2 of the other games you didn't mention, among others.

Not sure how much Bob (or Dennis James) needed to memorize at the start.  Yes, the first week had 5 games, but the next three weeks had at least one new game plus the various tweaks each game was going through. (Source: gr.net FAQ).

Kennedy had a bucketload to memorize.  I'm thinking 30 off the top of my head, but I could be wrong.

WhammyPower's source, which he misunderstood.  The list of pricing games on that page are the ones which had differences compared to the daytime show.  Anyhow, I have two episodes of Davidson PiR with playings of One Away, Magic # (Davidson liked talking about the leever on the geezmo), and Superball!!, among other games.

If they don't have the Joker's Wild warble/spin sound, I wouldn't watch.  It would be really cool though......

It would actually make Deal or No Deal somewhat bearable to watch again -- Contestant hits new green button next to the red Deal button, lights run across the floor to the respective case, small electric shock to model who pops open...the briefcase, that is...for the reveal.

If they used that Penny Ante reveal sequence on Deal or No Deal, they might be able to squeeze in another half game in the hour.
