$36,000. I don't remember seeing more than two JJ wins throughout the entire run.

I have a $10,500 win on tape.

It's winnable, it just didn't happen often. Keep in mind there were a whole bunch of cash and prizes in the bonus. if they wanted the Joker Jackpot to be won more often, they would've had fewer prizes, or added more Jokers.

Keep in mind that a $36K Joker Jackpot would have gone more than 12 weeks without a win(starts at $5K, adds $500 a day until won)

There were, I believe, 3 wins during the course of the run:

- $10.5K, won by Donna ? on the 3rd week
- $17.5K, won several weeks later by all-time top winner Thomas Van Dyke on his next-to-last appearance
- $36K, won after the switch to the category format, by Mary ?

 Indeed it was Mary.

I may be lynched for this. But I sorta liked TJW 90. The game may of moved a tad bit slower than the classic version, but it still held the basic tenent of the game and the bonus round was tad more reasonable. The cattegory format was better though.

Don't worry. I still believe Pat Finn was a terrible and emotionless cyborg of a host on the show.

You are both entitled to your opinion.

And I am entitled to say that as a result of this opinion I think you are both seriously demented in the head. ;)

The set was nice and the bonus round was better than Face the Devil, at least.

I don't agree. I like Face The Devil just fine. Is it all luck? Sure it is. Lady Luck is Queen, is she not?

I liked TJW90 all right: unless you have simply awful writers, games of trivia lists and quasi-etymology are fine by me. Furthermore, I think Pat Finn did a fair job as host. Having said all that, the game had nothing to do with The Joker's Wild.

Side comment: for all the wincing over the TJW90 bonus round intro of \"As you know, The Joker's Wild is a game of definitions\", what really bothered me was that the main game they were playing not five minutes earlier falsified that statement. TJW90 was a game of slot machines (in appearance if not always in function) and Pat Finn reading off lists.

Wasn't the bonus round intro, tho. That's what he said at the _top of the show_. And the question, I don't think, was with the \"definition\" part, but with the \"As you know,\" portion. He used that line on the PREMIER EPISODE. As a viewer of Jack, Jim, and Bill for however many years, I most certainly DID NOT KNOW that. :)

Of course, Lady Luck is queen. But to make it interesting requires some element of risk or strategy. Lady Luck was queen of \"Press Your Luck,\" too, but there was always the decision to press or pass. \"Face the Devil\" allowed one to quit with a couple of hundred bucks, but it was never a tense or interesting decision, unless one needed, say, $375 for a long-sought lawn mower or something.

Pat's version did have slightly more decision making, at least as far as freezing the wheels. It unfortuately had Pat, as well as the lame main game, but I'd say the bonus round--at least the spinning part--wasn't so bad.
