That still leaves him almost 20 years before he's too old for the show...

George Hamilton is 67. (SHRUG)

We need a special lockup around here for anyone who seriously suggests Rosie again. The Bill Shatner Go-Go Room? The Rosie O'Donnell/Elisabeth Hasselbeck Mud Wrestling Room?

Bill Shatner is 76, BTW.

The one thing for certain is the new host will have to use a different mic.  If we start seeing more pieces of the show on ebay, then we'll know it's over.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

That's 30 in dog years, I assume.  Shat's rug looks like it was taken straight from the back of one of my dogs.

There's something to be said about a man whose rugs are older than the women he dates. ;-)

One name that was brought up on "another board" was Mike Rowe from "Dirty Jobs," the Epic Pharmacy commercials, and a number of other cable shows.  I think he would be a great choice.  He's recognizable, he has a great personality, a great voice, and he's about the right age.  And if given the chance, I imagine he'd gladly take the job (barring contractual limitations).

Isn't he a semi-regular guest on "The View"?  I liked him when he hosted the FX game show "No Relation," I'd be happy with the choice.

IMDB credits him with two appearances on "The View" in 2005/06.  I didn't even know about the FX game.  He is also a former opera singer among other things.  Also currently hosts "American Chopper" and "Deadliest Catch" on Discovery.

Y'know who else I think would do a great job?  Have never heard his name mentioned in connection with any game ... but he does real well on everything he tries ...

Bob Costas.

He wouldn't take the pay cut.  Not to mention he'd have to give up that grueling 45 day per year work schedule.   :)

Since this was the only "who's replacing Bob" thread that brought up Bil Dwyer's name in a search . . .

On this week's Never Not Funny podcast, with Jimmy Pardo and special guest Graham Elwood, both of the "Remember Those Three Months We Were on GSN?" Club, it came up that Dwyer had recently had, or was about to have, "an audition". They didn't go into much detail on what that entailed, though.

This is just a thought, but why not bring back Doug Davidson?  He seemed to improve his hosting near the end of TNPIR '94, and maybe he could be better the second time around; then again, hed have to sacrifice Y&R to get the job full time.  Or better yet, has Fremantle considered a candidate of color (like say, Spencer Christian or Ahmad Rashad)?

I haven't heard Greg Kinnear's name mentioned in all of this.

What I don't understand about the TPIR emcee auditions is this. When auditioning an emcee, you don't start out by doing a "special taping" with full facilities in studio 33 in front of 300 people. You build a mockup of the Money Game, Grocery Game, Clock Game, whatever, in the office. Send your prospective emcee a script one week prior and bring him into the office for an afternoon. Spend a couple of hours walking him through it, then bring in 30 or so staffers and CBS brass while he plays One Bid and a couple of stage games. You will then know whether that person is worth pursuing further.

Fremantle needs to get into "cattle call" mode.

The Spencer Christian idea is a great one!  I think he could handle the show very well, for a long time to come.
