On today's (July 29) edition of CBS News Sunday Morning, correspondent Bill Geist was in Hollywood doing a piece on how easy (or not) it is to get a star on the Walk Of Fame.  During one portion, he brought the subject up briefly with Wink Martindale, who has his own star.  I don't know of any video clips of that portion, but the story--including the Wink reference--is here:

I saw the story this morning.  There were very brief clips of Wink's introductions on High Rollers and Tic Tac Dough.  What amazes me is that Bill Geist -- Sunday Morning's human-interest guy for the last twenty years -- really is getting his own star.  This is a guy who's perfectly good at what he does, but so NOT a big name that he doesn't even own the domain www.billgeist.com.  No word on who paid his $25,000 fee.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
