Not a good clue because you don't end up at Mortician's Locker.

Technically too many letters.  The longest words used on the show were 9 letters long.

No, but you COULD end up in a mortician's locker (which is what I was referring to; that big freezer with drawers).

What do they call that thing, anyway?

Since you mentioned dying at sea, my mind went immediately to Davy Jones' locker.

Without getting too far OT and morbid, do morticians freeze dead bodies?  I thought that was only done by a coroner.

That sort of clue may work better in the actual game, when you would know how many letters were in the answer and have them revealed one at a time.

I noticed they had those ambiguous types of clues on the show sometimes.

I think CORONER was the word I meant to put.

Morticians only prepare the body to be viewed and buried.

Anyway.

I would let the # of letters pass--there was at least one instance of a 10-letter word being used in the show opening, at least.

And since Mike finally bit the bullet with a criticism of a clue--guys, it's not enough that you've found some misleading wordplay. The clue needs to have that "a-ha!" moment after you've filled in enough letters. Chuck would be getting whiplash on some of these from looking off-camera at the writers. Let me make up one, so as not to of-fend:

5 letters--They're often shown the door: KNOBS

You've got the wordplay part--you're literally talking about doors, rather than referring to the idiom of "being shown the door". But then the answer doesn't make sense--"_____ are often shown the door" just doesn't parse.

Congratulations, Robert. You sir, Get It.

/for whatever that's worth. The show's been off the air for about 14 years; it's not like you could apply for a writing job or anything.
//but at least someone here realizes that a Scrabble clue isn't one-dimensional humor or a snippet of wordplay/misdirection.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.
