Variety says it's coming back this summer...

"We're looking for someone in the Anderson mode, a little mysterious but full of comedy," he said. "It could be a breakout role for someone."

Cool, an executive who Gets It.  Cooper was the best thing about the original, and someone in that vein is what they need to make it fun.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

Somebody should create a Varietyspeak-English online translator. I literally often have no earthy idea what I'm looking at whenever I read a Variety article.

I'm pretty sure they have a "slanguage" glossary on their site.

But really, it's more a matter of refusing to read them on principle. They don't have the market cornered; there are lots of other places to get the same news that aren't as annoying.

They used to have one (and hyperlinks for the slanguage).  They both seem to have disappeared in the last site revamp.

Thanks a lot, Barth.  Guber should ride your butt on it on "Shootout."

My wish for host.

Considering how much he clearly enjoyed playing the game twice, I think Corbin Bernsen would be a great choice to host.

Thanks for the belly laugh, though. I needed it.

Wow! What great news! I was watching reruns of The Mole 2 the other day and I forgot how great this show really was without celebrities.

I just had this thought...you beat me to it, Chuck. Corbin would make for a great host, and people already know who he is.

I would think that he has to be finished running the money clock by now...

I as well was extremely excited to hear that The Mole was returning.  Immediately, like everyone else, I started trying to think of the best host for the new version. I finally settled on an answer. But first, the reasoning:

A) He has experience working for Stone Productions.

B) He can be over the top when necessary, but can also pull it back and be subtle and mysterious.

C) He has a brilliant sense of humor.

D) He can improvise and adapt at the drop of a hat.

I present to you my choice for the new host of The Mole…………….

Ralph Garman!

After his work on the Joe Schmo Show, keeping that whole thing a secret, I think he is the perfect choice. I know some people will disagree, but I think he has the chops to make it work well.  I know he is not the most well known, but IMO, neither was Anderson.

Someone please promote Eddie to 'inthebiz', becuase Eddie is apparently Ralph Garman.

Good to have you here Ralph. Welcome to a place where no one has heard of you, either.

/Wow.
