did get solved.

I don't think it ever was thrown out. In the next puzzle, the score was $100 to $0 in favor of Betty White's team (White was the one who solved the puzzle).
The "mistake
" Kennedy probably was referring to were the botched reasons why "France" was not an acceptable clue for "French" and the multitude of pick-ups Kennedy tried to do (not to mention Kennedy tried to throw the puzzle away once--before being reminded that the other team got a free guess).
