From Cynopsis.net..... Looks like the panel is set...the question still remains if they'll be intact for the entire series.... personally, I'm hoping they aren't.

-----------------------

A pilot of an updated version of the classic game show The Match Game is on tap at TBS, reports THR.  Signed on to play the game are panelist players Sarah Silverman, Norm McDonald, Super Dave Osborne, Rashida Jones, Niecy Nash and Scott Thompson.  Hosting duties go to Andrew Daly.

[/quote]I'm predicting the usual "Ugh, who are these people?", so though you may not recognize the names, surely you'll recognize where they come from:
- Sarah and Norm have been explained, obviously the biggest names coming from TV and stand-up backgrounds
- Super Dave is Bob Einstein's inept stuntman character
- Rashida was Jim's Stamford fling Karen on The Office
- Niecy plays Raineesha Williams on Reno 911!
- Scott is a TV personality, famous for his time on Kids in the Hall

Strange they moved the taping from Studio 33 to 58.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Be careful googling Niecy at work.

I think they're stuck with them whether they work out or not, just as there was no way to get rid of Judy Tenuta. I don't see Bob Einstein setting the world on fire. Scott Thompson should be OK, better than Bruce Vilanch.

I don't know if Bob Einstein will be all that funny, but he does bring some name recognition to the table...at least with this MG panel, the average TV-watching American won't see too many unfamiliar faces.

After the way the Burger version was so badly screwed up, I'm not holding my breath on this one, although the panel seems to have a bit more hope.  I do hope it has enough success to make the jump to prime time network.  Then again, you can get away with a bit more on cable in the risqué department.

He's hilarious on "Curb Your Enthusiasm," but I'm not sure how well dry humor works on "Match Game." And how many of the young people know who Super Dave is, let alone Evel Knieval.

And it'll definitely hold them back filling the panel with all regulars. It needs some spice.

As far as I can tell, nobody's talking any more than pilot at this point.  A panel show like IGAS is one thing, but I can't imagine they'd make the mistake of not mixing up the celebs on Match Game at least a little each week.

/At least not again.

A line from a mainstream story that I though our resident expert historians would like:

"If it gets picked up, Match Game will be TBS' first game show."

It's not an issue for the historians...it's an issue for Entertainment Weekly's proofreaders.  They sourced the Hollywood Reporter and then managed to misstate the original article, which clearly says MG wouldn't be TBS's first game show.

/also checked to make sure you weren't quoting the AP
