"Million Dollar Password," 6.4/12, put CBS on top at 8 p.m. ABC's combination of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and NBA pre-game show averaged 5.0/9. "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" returned to FOX with a 3.9/7, beating out a "My Name Is Earl" rerun and "Last Comic Standing" on NBC. A "Smallville" repeat on The CW earned a 1.3/2.
Full article. The show also finished 8th for last week.

This makes three straight timeslot wins, doesn't it? Granted, it's a summer show going up against reruns, it still holds its own very well, and was the highest-rated unscripted program last week.

Pretty good, I'd say.

Perhaps I haven't been paying attention (maybe something was said)...but wouldn't these kind of ratings justify a second go-round of shows at some point down the line?

But, and I DO mean 'but,' if an "actors strike" is in effect, Regis may end up with Ty Treadway and Fred Roggin as guests!

Nice. You get one strike done and have another in the wings.....

Yeah, at least we wouldn't have loudmouth Rosie on MDP, that would be nice.

Just because you may not agree with her views on a subject does not take away from the fact that she proved on her episode that she can play with the best of them. Hell, I consider myself a true Democrat, but I'd play Password with President Bush if he played like a Harris, O'Donnell or White.[quote name=\'tvrandywest\' post=\'188634\' date=\'Jun 21 2008, 08:50 PM\']Done. Gracias, Randy. Much appreciated.

Gonna be looking to try out this time, if at all possible.

Another week, another win...

Dear CBS,

When this show returns, don't pull a Power of 10 and put this against something like Idol. You currently air it between two hit shows; keep it there for cycle two...

I agree; I think this would be a perfect show for the time between seasons of The Amazing Race. Unlike last year, they have 2 runs already planned for fall and spring- so you'd have a break from Mid-December to Mid-February, so you could do 6-8 episodes. You also could do TPIR MDS between Survivor seasons.

And my 2 cents -
The Sunday slot has two things going for it - a nice way to end the weekend, and since Password has an intellectual heritage, I wouldn't be surprised if a few of the 60 Minutes crowd carries over. This version is a lot flashier than the classic version, but it still requires some intellect to come up with the best clues. For what it's worth....

And as for our Rosie-hater:

Tough toenails.  The potential strike is by the Screen Actors Guild.  "MDP" is under the jurisdiction of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), who have signed a new contract with the Association of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).  AFTRA member (and good "Password" player) Rosie O is free to make a return visit and they'll be glad to have her.  Sorry.

I'm getting used to the format...it looks good from what I've seen.  Betty White certainly put a smile on face with her wit and charm around Regis and the contestants.  I can't wait to find out the rest of the celebrities that are booked to be on the show.

Hey now. Of all the reasons to bash somebody on this board, disliking Rosie O shouldn't be one of them. :)
