The Best Buy in North Canton, Ohio had 4 copies of the Password DVD set priced at  $24.99..Was just there today..
It was on sale Thursday night at the BB I got it at for $19.99. I didn't even know it was on sale until the total rang up less than I expected. One thing though- they shelved it under "B" for "Best of" and not "P" for Password..that was strange (I almost missed getting it until I thought about that).
I wasnt even looking for it..I like Best Buy's Selection.  They have a decent selection of rarer titles..I wouldnt have looked for it under "Best Of" either..

OT:Target in Massillon, Ohio had the Compete Original "Get Smart" series DVD set for $159.00..

Any show that stars the host of "Screen Test" and has one of the hosts of "It's Your Bet" as a semi-regular is on-topic.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Bumping this a bit... I just got the set on Friday (12/26).  I just wanted to know if this problem is universal or isolated.

Seems as if this set suffers from the same problem some of the episodes on the Family Feud set had... the video is progressive rather than interlaced, giving the video a very bad film-esque look.  Either that, or the framerate is off.

Anyone else having this problem?

Same problems here Nick. It's a disk problem. But, I'm able to look past it and enjoy it. Probably because it's in B/W to begin with makes it look old along with the framerate stuff.
Did anyone else notice the Fremantle logo even has the video problems at the end?

I don't wonder why.  In fact, I'm not surprised.  With the shoddy production values I've seen, I'm not surprised at all.

Believe me, I'm not either, haha. I just didn't mind the small issues. However, I hate to say it, some of it has to do with the content too. Not a lot of people want to buy a DVD set of 30 game show episodes. As happy as I was to see game show sets come out on DVD, I knew they wouldn't sell well. Unfortunately, sounds like I was right.

I'm a little unclear on if Navarre is just shutting the label and continuing the releases.  One thing I noticed when I was watching the Match Game episodes with friends who are "normal" is that they wondered why stuff like slates, fee plugs, etc. were left in.  They also didn't find the show as funny as I thought it was.

From a technical standpoint, it should very much be pointed out and not ignored that this has happened twice now.  They shouldn't be releasing product to an already saturated market with a progressive/interlaced problem such as this.  You would think they'd get the hint since the source was videotape to make sure it maintains that look.  I've even noticed on some of the episodes because of this problem, that the camera switches are akin to off-lock and look absolutely abysmal.

It's poor production values, plain and simple.  I take extra care in my work at least to make sure that any product that I put out looks the best it can.

I will assume, however, that there may have been other factors as to why they went under (see: economy, United States).  Agreed that the sets probably didn't sell well, but, I won't assume that unless I have access to actual sales figures for bona fide proof that was indeed the case.

I have to play the skeptic here to some degree.

However, don't get me wrong, I enjoy just having the episodes, but I can't believe they called themselves a DVD company without knowing when and when not to use progressive as opposed to interlaced.

That's fair, but they didn't help themselves by having a shite work ethic, either.

While watching the first disc, I noticed the first show lists Carol Burnett and GARY Moore, with one R. He spelled it GARRY, with two Rs. A minor nitpick, but otherwise an enjoyable disc.
