80s Lingo Question
« on: January 03, 2009, 09:30:09 AM »
So a dear friend and I are watching an 80s version of Lingo last night.  Middle of the game, they go to commercial.  They come back to the commercial, the contestants disappear and two kids are on stage, and they play three words without drawing balls.  Go to commercial.  Come back from commercial, the four contestants are back, and no mention is made of the kids.  Anybody have any idea why this was inserted?  No longer valid fee plugs?  Can-con?

It definitely goes down the same path as the Audience Game in Super Pay Cards.  IIRC, it is a combination of Can Con rules and the fact that the maximum number of commercials allowed during the show is less in Canada than in the US.
