Nice to see how they've pulled out all the stops for what appears to be a Broadway Week airing Nov. 3-7, which includes a visit from occasional Davidson-era guest Jason Alexander, as well as GS favorite Rosie O'Donnell and former HS reg Bruce Vilanch.

UGH!!!  Not HIM again!!

That guy (Mario Cantone) should've been in a freaking straitjacket as hyper as his butt was on the show.

PS:  The album Donny referred to in the second game of last Wednesday's match will be released on the day that match is second-run (November 4).

Oh just shut up. You non East Coasters/old sticklers are terrible sometimes.

I always thought Mario Cantone was funny. I actually remember him when he did Steampipe Alley on WWOR in the late '80s/early '90s. I think he did fine on Pyramid, kind of made the game a little more fun to watch.

I thought he was funny on SA, but he seemed a bit more subdued there compared to his appearances on H2 and Pyramid this past season...however, since he's a pretty good player on the latter, I can't complain TOO much.

I'm not that old...

And I just saw some cross between Bobcat Goldthwait and Richard Simmons in him.

That made it all the easier to root for his opponent.  I just wish that Gibson wouldn't have to put up with that mania TWICE...

Agreed.  Let's not complain about the celebs as long as they can play the game.

If one is capable of watching a game show purely for the gameplay, that works. I, on the other hand, have trouble enjoying any television program when one of the people appearing on it is running a metaphorical nailfile over my brain, whether or not they just cleared the pyramid in 23 seconds.

OK, call me biased about Cantone with respect to his opponent (but Deborah, dear, when your opponent starts giving you the same answers to the definitive clues and a blank look -- PASS!!!), but the last poster made the point perfectly.

And grating a nailfile is being kind about how I feel about how Cantone was that first game...  Richard Simmons indeed...

I mean, would we accept Simmons on Pyramid???

Seems to me that on Things That Are Eager Deborah had nothing to pass to--they'd turned over all five previous boxes.

OK, so they don't turn over anymore, but some terms from the old show you can't shake...

I don't know whether we would, but he did make at least one appearance on Super Password.

He's also done the current run of H2. He was a little annoying there, always cheering "Yayy, ___!" whenever a celebrity was called on.

And during that wk, he helped give away $40K in a bonus round, causing him to break down in tears after the win.

He also appeared on Body Language, Pictionary, and an unsold pilot called What Are My True Colors that actually aired as an ABC special on 5/30/87 (a Sat afternoon...they pre-empted American Bandstand).

And he did an ABC Dawson Feud primetime special in 1983, and a week of Combs Syndie Feud in its first season as part of a "Funny Men" team. He also made a cameo on TPIR94, emerging at the end of a showcase reveal.

Bruce Vilanch (Hairspray) and Stephanie D'Abruzzo w/Kate Monster
(Avenue Q) (#2068) - Primary

I went to college with Stephanie D'Abruzzo, and she just sent out an e-mail to her friends promoting her appearance.  She said it was very hard playing the main game with only one hand.  (Kate Monster is a puppet.)

Of course, it's very appropriate to have her matched up with Bruce Vilanch, since he looks like a Muppet...or, at least, he used to before he shaved the beard.
