Likewise, do we know if this hour is a placeholder for something CBS really wants to put there?
Days Of Our Lives, for example, if as it is rumored, the Corday Productions presentation is breathing its last on NBC?

The optimist in me hopes that the two game shows take off and usher in a new era of daytime game shows on the networks. If my math is right, and CBS actually replaces GL with the two game shows (and doesn't change the "official" feed from 3pm to 10am), would be the first time game shows aired in the 3-4 slot since 1975. Had a free moment to think about this - IIRC, the last game show to air in the 3:30 time slot was MG'77 (11/4/77), with the last game show to air in the 3pm time slot being PiR (sometime in '75).
Don, are you trying to say DooL is rumored to jump to CBS? That could be interesting, if so..

It's been rumored for several years that CBS and ABC have been interested in Days of Our Lives. IIRC, CBS was set to bid on the show back in 2003 if NBC declined to renew it (The Peacock opted to give it a 5-year renewal).
Right now, DOOL is on an 18-month contract with NBC, with a possible one-year extension, which would take the show until 2011 if the Peacock agrees to the extension. I remember reading the show is quite popular in Europe, and global sales are one main reason NBC keeps renewing it.
I mentioned a few months back that if we were thaving his conversation five years ago, I could see CBS adding and/or extending a soap to replace GL. IMO, the economic market isn't there to justify doing that today, although if CBS found a way to add a 30-minute DOOL without having to break the bank, a pickup is a possibility, albeit a longshot.
