I think the fact that the first post which asked "when the new Season starts" was made 9 days before the site officially opened to the public is a pretty good indication of how they intend to use the site  :)
As a promotional tool? Heaven forbid they do that.

Does anyone else get this instead of a real site?

Come on? Come on yourself. To think there's some big conspiracy behind a post being made before the site went live is ridiculous. There's a number of reasonable explanations for that - the site obviously has problems, as evidenced by all of the ASP.NET errors, and that could've easily been a test message of sorts. For all we know, they sent a mass email out at the office saying "Go and test this site before we throw it up on the Internetz!"

Or it could've been to start a discussion in the forum - I've been online for a long time, through dialup BBSes to the Internet as we know it today, and I can damn well tell you that every discussion board I've went on where there was a whopping ZERO posts stayed at a whopping zero posts for the duration of the forum's existence.

The administrators, based on their own actions, don't want to hide when they're the ones to post something - I've seen at least one thread started by the webmaster, and it plainly identified who posted it - the webmaster, not "Bob from Colorado" a/k/a Drew Carey's secretary in California (obviously I can't link to it now because they can't get their act together).

Is there an agenda here? Probably - everybody has an agenda, whether they want to admit it or not - but you're pointing to the wrong thing to prove it. Wake me up when they start erasing the "DROOFUS RUINED MY SHOW BY CHANGING THE COLOR OF THE THIRD CR DISPLAY" messages.
Cheers,
Mr. Brown, Esq.

But there are far better ways to do it than to ask a question they already know the answer to.

As for your "test post" theory, that's possible, I suppose, but then they should have cleaned up their mess before they went live, precisely to prevent something like this from happening.

Seems to me they tried to pull a fast one, and they got caught.

I thought Horan was given a total ban from this forum? As in, not only can he not post, he can't even read the forum.

I wouldn't be shocked if he had some non posting lurker "agents" relaying messages to him though.

Unregistered guests can read the Big Board and a couple of other subforums.  We can't be in the business of completely blocking IPs, which can be wildly unreliable and not particularly effective.

Did anybody happen to notice the first blog post was made back in July?

(GASP! CONSPIRACY!)

Does anybody even know when this website really launched? Is it possible that none of us noticed until yesterday? I mean, priceisright.com had pretty much died a quick death, and there was really no reason for anybody to be checking it everyday.

The internet fan community is more connected and more obsessive than you think.  I would be extremely surprised if the site was up for much longer than a day before it got noticed, and once it got noticed, word would spread very quickly.
