Remote Control Tonight and Tomorrow
« on: November 17, 2009, 04:21:22 PM »
Former MTV DJ Dave Holmes, on his Twitter page posted hours ago in separate tweets "My friends at the MTV say there will be some classic episodes of Remote Control tomorrow late-night... Remote Control will be on MTV2 tonight from 9-10p EST, and MTV 2-3a tomorrow night."

The on-screen guides, of course, won't be updated with this information, but let's tune in to remember Ken Ober and his great show.

Cool. Now I'll have something to fill the extra space on my final Password disc.

Don't worry Chuck D. I'll have them DVR'd.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Perhaps Chuck D., just once, should record his own stuff.

Just read this thread 2 minutes ago.  I've almost never bolted from my computer chair to the DVD recorder so fast.  Thanks for the info.

I may take out my Nintendo game out for good measure.

Can anyone clarify Mr. Holmes's account of the airing schedule?  Will the RC eps air on MTV (for those of us without MTV2) overnight Tues/Wed or overnight Wed/Thurs?  Thank you!  (Too bad that it happens to be during the Pyramid hour on GSN...)

From the obit thread:

Nope, it's 2-3am 11/19, as it airs "after a rerun of For The Love of Ray-J 2" (link goes to Dave Holmes' blog).
Which means for DVR folk you are recording "The Hills" and "The Hills Aftershow".  Unless a guide update gets sent out before then to reflect the changes.

That's pretty much MTV standard these days. Most, if not all of their shows run over some so I prepared for it. They ran over a little longer than MTV standard since these actually came from a time where there was actual bulk to a show, and they aired them untouched.
I'm glad that they are doing a mini-tribute to Ken, but only just a couple of episodes??

I guess there's too many music videos shown during the program (end game), and you know that MTV(2, 3, 312,...) doesn't want to be looked at as a MUSIC VIDEO CHANNEL..(what would people say?)

And of course, Remote Control isn't as entertaining as the 300th re-running of the entire "I Like The 90s" series either, now is it???
I'm just glad we got to see them again. They could have only aired that little bumper they used tonight, or nothing at all.  I can guarantee that MTV's core audience these days have no clue who Ken was. It's just a shame that this unfortunate circumstance is how we were able to see a few reruns. I wish this show would pop up on VH1 Classic or overnights on MTV2. I miss it.
