New Price is Right slot machine coming in 2010

From Drew Carey's Twitter:

Saw new TPIR slot machine yesterday. AMAZING! Touchscreen glass over mechanical reels. BOSE Surround sound chairs... Coming in Feb 2010

Sounds cool to me. I'll almost be old enough to play it by then...

More here

"THE PRICE IS RIGHT PLINKO® and THE PRICE IS RIGHT PUNCH A BUNCH® – Building on the success and familiarity of the ubiquitous THE PRICE IS RIGHT game show, WMS has two of the most popular and exciting games from THE PRICE IS RIGHT show. PLINKO and PUNCH A BUNCH games will debut creating a whole new paradigm in slot entertainment by leveraging enhanced versions of three of WMS’ powerful foundational technology platforms – Community Gaming, Transmissive Reels Gaming and Sensory Immersion Gaming – to offer an unmatched entertainment experience. WMS will showcase both versions of THE PRICE IS RIGHT brand on the slot floor in entirely new and unique product executions as it invites players to “Come on Down” for a chance at Community Progressive Jackpots in the “Showcase Showdown.”
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

I presume some intern wrote that press release, and decided to have fun trying to see how many buzzwords he could get into one paragraph describing a pseudorandom number generator with a TPIR façade.

Question for those of you more knowledgeable about slots and the gaming industry than I: Is this exciting and dynamic paradigm shift expected to have been synergystically achieved and implemented to provide players with a truly next-generation immersive gaming experience prior to my trip in late spring 2010?  Or should I proactively prepare to empower myself to divest my financial accounts of their funded status using other traditional gaming methods?

Or: I'm in Vegas at the end of next April.  Should I plan on spending any time looking for one of these on a casino floor somewhere, or is the actual rollout time for a new machine like this typically longer than that?

Just curious...figured I'd ask while the topic was current instead of bumping later.

\My head hurts from trying to read that whole press release

The sensory immersion technology is fun. We have a few games over at Treasure Island casino here in Minnesota, with that hardware. You sit in a large chair, that's been tricked out with Bose speaker technology. Blend that with some vibrant animation technology, and it's fun experience for your money.

The transmissive reels gaming, is a multi-layer screen technology, overlapping mechanical slot reels. Gives it a 3d glasses feel when playing your game.

I've played the "Top Gun" penny slots at a few places...Not a bad "experience" if you can hit a bonus game within the first few dollars played AND the machine has the volume set to the max!

IGT made the last Price slots - I think that was the "Rod Roddy Fishing Game" monstrosity. It will be refreshing to see what Williams (I'm sorry, I don't want to discount this company's vast heritage in amusement devices by calling it WMS) does with the concept.

The next pricing game to come out was Money Game. As I understood it, there was enough remaining audio of Rod to release it. However, I've never seen any photos of it nor have seen it in person. It may have been a very limited release, if any.

I remember asking Rich once if he was doing any voiceovers for the slots. He said he'd love to do it as Rod got about 6 figures to do them.

These days, most casinos don't carry the old price slots. The last I've seen of them were the Cliffhanger slots at Mount Airy Lodge Casino in the Poconos. They removed them 30 days later. It's too bad as they were very, very fun. (I thought punch-a-bunch was the best). You won't see Wheel or Price slot on CD any time soon due to licensing issues as I was told by Masque (the company that publishes WMS games)

There is/was a row of Price slots at the Golden Nugget in Vegas back in August.  (Dice Game and Punch-a-Bunch, IIRC.)
