I noticed that Pat Sajak is wearing an earring. Could that be one of the April Fools' Jokes?

Regardless, it appears that He is pulling a Harrison Ford.

I wonder if a better set of gags could have been planned.  Zachary Taylor as a special guest?  Or misspelling "Honorable" as "Horanoble"?  They probably had a whole bunch of ideas but touched on only a few due to time constraints.  Pat himself might have had a few ideas during the taping; however tonight's episode (like most) was heavily edited and would not show too many shenanigans.

  • Pat had an earring for a short moment
  • Charlie introduced the third puzzle
  • The Final Spin was from a 1992 episode.
  • Pat changed his suit for the bonus round
  • Pat and Vanna were in the audience when the winner's family was introduced

I thought I got 5, but I got 4- there was a bullriding sequence in the opening Hawaii shot montage, and I thought that was one of them.
Fact To Make You Feel Old: Just about every contestant who appears in a Price is Right Teen Week episode from here on out has only known a world where Drew Carey has been the host.

I only managed to get the Bankrut, Charlie O'White and Final Spin ones, I seriously wasn't looking hard enough I guess.

Thanks immensely, Lirodon!  We didn't get to see tonight's show here -- preempted for an MSU Final Four special.  :(

Maybe, if we're lucky, they'll preempt Saturday's normal last season rerun and run tonight's show instead.

/Go Spartans!  But boo on Channel 10 for constantly finding reasons to bump WOF for specials.

I coulda sworn one of the M's in the R1 puzzle was blue.

It also took me a bit to realize that the guy in the red was Charlie O.  Does that mean I have to give back my GS Nerd card?

Seconded and encouraged.  The Wheel will spin just as fine without you.

/Would have loved to see the wheel spin backwards.

I thought that Wheel could have done considerably more to celebrate the day -- the only things that weren't obviously done in post-production were the Pat/Vanna reversal walkout, the BANKRUT spaces, Pat's earring, and his suit change for the Bonus Round.

Other than those, and the stuff done in post-production (possibly including the closing segment -- my affiliate decided to do a mini-screen to talk about some news), it may as well have been a normal episode.

/Which, quite possibly, it was.

Seems to me like they did plenty.

I'd ask what you would have suggested that didn't mess with the actual play of the game (since that's seriously unfair to those three contestants), but I'm still recovering from a Muse concert last night and I don't think my forehead could stand the facepalm.

If you found their effort unsatisfactory, please stop watching.

I don't see what all the big fuss is about all the April Fool's Gags on Thursday's WOF being added in post-production. So what? That didn't keep from enjoying it. I think April Fools' Day brings out the best in both of Merv Griffin's shows.
