Rich Fields gone from TPIR?
« on: June 03, 2010, 12:12:50 PM »
According to this thread, a new TPIR announcer is coming soon.

If true, pity they didn't get rid of the host first.

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

And no one said Rich was like a second daddy to them. Imagine if someone had.

A) With Feud moving to Orlando, is Burton going with them?
B) Get Randy West and all is forgiven about announcing the last six years.

When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"

If Rich Fields should ever leave "TPiR", he should take over the "WoF" announcing job once Charlie O' Donnell decides to retire.

It depends, really. Does anybody know if Burton has any other commitments that would prevent his going to Orlando?

B) Get Randy West and all is forgiven about announcing the last six years.
Rich wasn't that bad. Granted, he got worse in the last two seasons, but...

Without knowing the full story? Think about that for a second.

Or Drew? Or Kathy Greco? Or do you think they would just ignore it and/or remove the comments?
They would probably tell you they're not at liberty to say, if they even entertain the question.

1) I was being sarcastic. Obviously I won't ask him up-front.

2) I recall hearing that having the announcer position on Price was Rich's dream job. If so, then I wouldn't think he would leave voluntarily unless there was something really big.

I volunteer you for the job.  While you're at it, you can ask if he's stopped beating his wife.

Which is exactly why I volunteer you.

Neither Rich nor Drew are the root of the problem, imo.

Well, this is a perfect time to do it if TPTB wanted to go with a new person- they're on a almost 2-month taping break, so if they have someone in mind, they can get that person acclimated to the show and do some run-throughs before they go in front of a live audience...apparently, the original poster there has given some accurate information before, so I think it's probably legit. It's a bit convenient though that Drew is most likely out of the country when this hit (the taping break was partly so he could attend the World Cup in South Africa)- he could deny he knew anything about this, like he did when the EP got fired a couple of years back. Coincidence?

Not officially confirmed by John or Marc, but the news was posted to g-r by the same account who first broke the news of both Mike Richards's hiring and Bart Eskander's firing.

I don't buy that for a second. Especially since you asked if they would remove the comments.

If so, then I wouldn't think he would leave voluntarily.
Then perhaps you might understand why it might not be in the best taste to ask that.

Possibly, but that has nothing to do with anything. It's easy to read between the lines, but that's not to say maybe something came up that prevents him from being available. Might as well wait for the story instead of speculating.
