You know, I had an interesting thought... I don't know how feasible it would be for the show, though...

What if Mike Richards intends on not replacing Rich Fields? That is, make the announcer position a rotating one, similar to the models.

Called it.

Meh on JD Roberto, though it's not like he had much to work with on Shop Til You're Slightly Winded.

Exactly.  Once the phrase "improv comic" was put out there by Mr. Fields, did anybody seriously think we weren't going to see folks from Drew's posse?

Yeah- her orange sweater is a little more "form fitting" and she doesn't look frumpy anymore. She's a lot more sarcastic now, too.

And she wants to get into Shaggy's pants, apparently?  (this is prob. the origin of the hot/whore comments)

At least in my case, you'd be very very incorrect.

Me too.  And the derogatory comments about Miss Dinkley are not my own.I think this wrinkle of her having a thing for Shaggy mutated into the whole "trying to make her hot/she's a whore" thing.  Or so I heard.

Taking a cue from a smart person on g-r.net, whose idea was it anyway?

/Wondering if they ran the "variety show within a game show" concept by their Executive Consultant.

Coming this fall to CBS...."Whose Price Is It, Anyway?"......Well, good luck to those three, especially the "Drew Crew" of improv stars. As long as Sherwood doesn't do the "Come On Downs" in the style of the B-52's lead sing....I better not give them ideas! :)

Now I really wish GSN would air the old TPIR episodes. I can see it turn into a totally different show where the game itself is second banana, however thats the only way progress is made i guess. Mind you my favourite years for TPIR was when I was growing up (mid 80s - mid 90s). I haven't been captured by it since.

Most of the reasons I watched are long gone. The familiar family feel is now gone to a commercial, busy carnival feel... party-ish but like a half drunk party. Many contestants for years never cared what they were doing on stage or what the host said or did, let alone who they were. They needed laugh tracks for Bob the last few years when he would bother to make a joke because nobody was listening, the feeling i got anyway. The rare time a contestant knows of their surroundings and what they're actually doing is a breath of fresh air, but its a rarity. A standing ovation is not earned its what you do cause you may see yourself on TV. I know it's not just TPIR. It's changing to match the times of today. Television is. I guess that's why I can't watch television much any more either.

The reasons I tuned in to be entertained are stuck watching old game shows just to see someone take it half seriously for once. It was the best balance of fun and seriousness. For years watching the show, always dreamed about being involved with TPIR or even hosting it or announcing for it. Now its just gone too far for me.

Television is not like it was, because society is not like it was. I always said I was born 10 years too late.

Heres hope that GSN or some other classic game show channel will do their part and let us re-live the old TPIR. It's not like it's the same show any more anyway.

I know my views aren't popular, but I have never been one for popularity.

Call me psychic, but somehow, I just knew that when the words "improv comic" came into play when looking for a new announcer, it hit me that they might try to lure some of Drew's ol' buddies from WLIIA into the mix.

1. I'm confused now. Velma from Scooby-Doo is a guest announcer?

2. For those believing a national monument is being defaced with comedy, remember - the original Cullen TPIR used to give out gag "bonus" gifts every so often (my favorite was the peacock that went with a color TV to serve as a color guide).
This isn't a plug, but you can ask me about my book.
