Interesting Observation on Millionaire
« on: September 16, 2010, 05:01:33 PM »
So I was watching Wednesday's episode and they did a long credit roll at the end of the show and on the credits it lists Jay Wolpert at a Creative Consultant.

So what does he do on WWTBAM?

Better yet, what is a creative consultant?

In some cases, a creative consultant is usually the head writer.  Whether that's the case for MILLIONAIRE I don't know, but given Wolpert's experience it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.

Sorta like what Dick DeBartolo did for the G/T games??

I would reckon a guess that they both have one thing in common: They live & write questions on one coast and send the material to the show on the other coast.

I would reckon a guess that it doesn't have the first damn thing to do with geographic location.

Conventional thinking says it doesn't have much to do with question-writing either.  Word on the street is that you have Wolpert to thank for the twists in the format.

Is the gauntlet being added for sweeps?

Well it makes sense in a way- you could consider the Longshot a primitive form of Lifeline....though I don't know how they could add a block on the Million Dollar Question...
