High/Low
« on: December 04, 2003, 12:35:29 AM »
I remember from "Quiz Show" that Dan Enright mentioned the notion of appearing on his new game "High/Low" to Herb Stempel in order to make losing more appealing. I believe I've read that it ran, or at least it was a real thing. Now for nine points and a total of 21, how did the game work?

Thanks everybody.

From the EOTGS, the game consisted of a contestant and three panelists. A multi part question was asked, and the panelists determined how many parts they could answer. The contestant then decided how many parts to answer, and won more money the more parts they could answer, but only took home 10% of their winnings if they couldn't answer all parts.

Jack Barry hosted, but according to Herb Stempel, who some of us talked to at GSC9, High/Low was the show that Dan Enright had promised him once his reign on 21 was over. (In the movie, Herb mentions a show was promised to him by Dan)  when the deal fell through, Herb had decided to blow the whistle on Barry and Enright.
