Hey guys

My ticket came today, I will be attending TPiR Live at the Tennessee Theater in Knoxville on May 20th

Here\'s what I am wondering, as a first timer, what exactly can I expect in the live show, and, what are the odds I could possibly get called up on stage

Thanks

Brian~

Well, Google says the place seats 1,631. So take the number of pricing games that get played, multiply that by four, add two for the Showcase, and divide that by 1,631.

Don\'t you have to sign up in advance of the show by a couple of hours to get called? I\'m sure not all of the audience members do this. Plus since you can\'t technically charge to play, one could go to a performance and sign up to play. There\'s a provision for this in the rules.

On another note, Should there be one thread for all of these TPIR live posts?

I\'ll also be attending the Knoxville event, and yes, you have to sign up separately to be a potential contestant... just buying a ticket doesn\'t enter you into that lottery. I wonder how many people attending even realize that.

I went ahead and registered.  Hopefully that puts me ahead of the game.

Now, does anyone know who will be emceeing and announcing the show?

Yeah, I didn\'t know if it was fresh people for the wheel, too, and / or if they did it once or twice.

/I refuse to go unless they do it twice

Also, it may help neophytes to understand that this is a totally random drawing of contestants.  Any effort put into wacky, fun t-shirts is for your own amusement and that of your fellow attendees, but will in no way whatsoever improve your chances of being selected.

I\'ve never paid to attend TPIR Live, but if I was in Knoxville, I might pay to see it in the Tennessee Theater.  I saw my first movie in the Tennessee Theater when I was seven years old.  Today it\'s a gorgeously restored old palace, a ridiculously fancy place to play Cliffhangers.

This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

It is gorgeous. It looks even better now that it was restored

When I saw the Wheel Of Fortune Live Show years ago in Las Vegas, it was pretty much the same thing (3 new contestants x 5 or 6 rounds), with contestants being picked via a number randomizer.  Can\'t recall if you had to either opt-in or opt-out for the chance to be selected, but it was fun nonetheless.

I agree with that... been there numerous times, and I\'m always in awe of its beauty. And the talents of the live organist.

Ah yes.  I saw \"Weird Al\" Yankovic there two weeks ago and the theater was a beautiful setting for a wonderful concert.  the only thing is, the stage is a little smallish looking...I hope they\'ll be able to fit the TPiR sets into it

In the Melbourne, FL show, the wheel segment was done twice.

But only five pricing games.
