Corey\'s right though. I know I can be a smartass from time to time, but not every single remark needs to be met with \"smart\" or snarky responses, even if it is for a member with a spotty track record.

Short of a papal bull that says \"not every dumb comment needs to be met with a comment that says what a dolt the first commenter was,\" that\'s going to keep happening. We\'re all in charge of curating our experience and bringing up stuff like the idea that maybe we want to be more friendly to the dolts.

I see 3 rules in the ERs that (more or less) say that, Travis:

1. ALL MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN A CIVILIZED AND ADULT-LIKE FASHION IN THIS FORUM AND IN ALL DEALINGS WITH OTHER BOARD MEMBERS AND MODERATORS, BOTH PUBLICLY AND PRIVATELY.

3. On-Topic Posts

All posts must be relevant to the topic of television game shows or a directly-related topic. Posts regarding videotape trading transactions between private parties are considered off-topic.

5. Distasteful Posts

Posts deemed to be offensive, in generally bad taste or inflammatory in nature, will subject the author to disciplinary action. Posting messages which are harrassing, insulting, belittling, threatening or derisive to other board member(s), or which contain or incite personal attacks against other board member(s), will be considered grounds for disciplinary action. Posts which are harrassing, insulting, belittling, threatening or derisive to the Executive Producers, or which contain or incite personal attacks against the Executive Producers, or which otherwise undermine an Executive Producer\'s authority, will result in the offending member being banned from the board. A pattern of excessive and gratuitous use of foul language shall constitute grounds for disciplinary action.

Seems to me it\'s all spelled out right there... especially the part in bold on rule #5.

And the rules/regs also say that you can report a post to the moderator and he\'ll take it under advisement.

So... it\'s not up to members to follow the rules as stated in the ERs, it\'s up to members to report those who repeatedly and knowing ignore those rules.  Is that what you\'re saying?

It\'s certainly a topic to be brought up in \"Behind the Scenes\" if you like.
...except that section doesn\'t seem to have made the move to the new site.

Once, they forgot to change the slides, and the contestant, on his first spin, got three JOKERS, and an obvious stop tape happened, leaving Jack to explain that they NEVER had a person spin three jokers on a first spin so the challenger was invited back to play again if the champion answered correctly.

GSN aired that episode, and it looked as if they had never considered that could occur.  They didn\'t seem to have a rule for it at that time.  By mid-1973, if that happened they asked the challenger to play the next game, rather than coming back later.  By spring-74, they switched positions so that the challenger spun last.

Good. Now look at your front page.

See the forum labeled \"Behind The Scenes\"?

You found it? Good.

If clicking the above link does indeed return the error he just cited, then I am going to suggest that no, he doesn\'t.

Thanks, I did. If he wasn\'t logged in, he wouldn\'t be seeing the other forums that he\'s currently posting in, either.

I see someone missed the point about what I said earlier in this post.

Seriously, Mr. Palmer... you need to bring the attitude back a couple of notches.
