Double Dare mystery
« on: July 06, 2013, 06:30:28 PM »

I was watching some of the shows\' direct-to-video specials, and I noticed something unusual: Two different physical challenges featuring the same two girls from an episode I don\'t ever remember seeing. I have them cued up in these clips:

I have to say, when I first saw these clips, they definitely threw me off quite a bit.

I did research years ago about its production history. By that, I mean using Google News Archives. When I did, I learned that 65 episodes (or 65 matches as they called them) were ordered by Nickelodeon for the first season.

That, and several traders have another episode from 1986 called Goobers (Chris & Alicia) vs. Raisinettes (Robert & Emily).

Again, this inconsistency throws me off. Maybe I should have called this thread \"Double Dare inconsistency\" instead.

It contradicts with what was reported initially. Why would they tape an extra episode or so, when 65 were ordered to begin with.

Here\'s what was reported initially: http://articles.philly.com/1986-09-24/news/26075272_1_whyy-sundae-slide-geoffrey-darby\'>http://articles.philly.com/1986-09-24/news/26075272_1_whyy-sundae-slide-geoffrey-darby

Is it possible that this wasn\'t from an episode and was staged for the \"how to host your own\" or similar projects?

Or, in a more simple solution, is it possible that you just haven\'t seen every freaking episode of Double Dare?

With all of the various message boards and web sites he belongs to, I\'d say that yes it is very possible he hasn\'t filled up his DD dance cad.

Spelling error aside; the point is that there\'s a strong possibility that our super fan here has not seen every episode.

Or even better yet, there could be a show or two that never made it to air?

It\'s not as if I was acting like game show episodes are http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinpokomon\' title=\"External link\">Chinpokomon, if that\'s what you think, Travis. Nowhere in this thread was I going \"I gotta have all the episodes!\". I was just pointing out what looked to be an inconsistency to me. I realize there is more to life than game show episodes.

That having been said, come to think of it, I believe this could have been a mock episode, or a rehearsal game to test out new physical challenges.
