One question I do have here -- what, exactly, is the 'new' GSN aiming for? Reality shows are certainly at the top of their list, but it seems like they're going in the same direction that the old Nashville Network, among many others, has gone, which is away from their traditional audience. That particular network comes to mind because of all the changes they've made in the past 5 years in general, the past 6-10 months in particular. I'm sure attracting a bigger crowd is a major contributing factor.
One thing seems pretty clear -- I'll have to dig out some tapes in my old tape collection if I want to watch reruns of Match Game or anything else game show-related in the near future.
Oh, I do apologize for the harsh tone earlier. It's not an excuse, but I am on medication for a major ear infection (going on 6 months now!!) that does include mood swings as a side effect. A *wonderful* thing for a teacher to have, especially at the start of a new semester. Yes, I am seeking other meds that will take care of the problem, in case anyone is wondering. [/quote]
Does anyone know if the changes to the Nashville Network have been successful? Anyhow - the object of the "new" GSN AFIAK is to be a general "gaming" network, rather than a game show network. This is accomplished (in their opinion) by adding non-game programming (fake a date), video game programming, and general game programing (casino stuff, plus all the games across america bits).
And that's about all we know, I think.
