Whilst watching Ray Winston's first Double Dare game on Buzzr(!) today, it clicked that there was a discussion here about his disqualification of $ale winnings.

My recollection was that he picked the wrong show to leave off his CV when applying to Sale of the Century.

My other recollection was that he should have left some appearances for the rest of people; that's why appearance limits are a thing.

How fondly I remember Tim Sullivan. He had been a chorus boy/dancer in the movie Mame with Lucille Ball. He then obtained a law degree and wound up at NBC Compliance and Practices. Lucy remembered him when she came to tape our show. He then helped me out after I left the Wonderful World of Game Shows and needed some advice on 317 announcements. At some point he founded Sullivan Compliance which is stull in business.

I believe he is no longer with us. Whether he fell victim to AIDS is unclear.

There was a Mr. Sullivan in the studio the day I taped my "Wheel of Fortune" shows on December 16, 1997.  I think his first name was Jim or Tom.  Thankfully, the rules have changed regarding game show appearances.  Persons are now limited to three game show/reality show programs every 10 years, provided that their appearances are at least one year apart.  My shows aired on 1/27 and 1/30/1998--meaning that I would not be eligible to be a contestant on another show until 1/30/1999.  I qualified by telephone audition for NBC's Twenty One in early 2000, but didn't have enough money to travel to Memphis for a regional audition.  After 1/30/2008, the 10-year cycle cleared.
