In its first couple of seasons, Feud was distributed by LBS.  This brings up two questions, albeit better suited for the Closing Logo Group, but...

1996, actually, IIRC.  The Goodsons announced that they were selling the company allegedly to pay off estate taxes (more likely because outside of the lottery franchise they only had "TPIR" left on the air).  King World and Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video sent out feelers, but All-American ended up purchasing the company.  A-A was acquired by Pearson in 1997, who then spunoff their TV holdings to RTL in 2001, with the resulting company renamed FremantleMedia.  Jonathan Goodson kept ownership of the lottery franchise and started his own company, which has outside of the lottery franchise not really had any success since then.

2) How did Feud end up an All-American property?  Was LBS absorbed into AA or what?

LBS went bankrupt.  A-A purchased LBS' assets, including this little show about lifeguards that bombed on network television but was big overseas that was about to re-launch in first-run syndication.  Something called "Baywatch."

 A euphemism for approaching MGP about selling to them.

In hindsight, either one of them would have been better than All-American/Fremantle.  King World did a nice job on Squares and would have respected the long-running TPIR, and Broadway Video's stable of talent could have made a better Match Game revival... although I don't know if I could have gotten used to matching Chevy Chase, Jan Hooks, and Kevin Nealon on a daily basis.

 Apparently the Kings picked up some valuable pointers from working with Barry-Enright. Hopefully, they can pick up another show to make another hit out of.

Come to think of it, TPiR would've been a nice fit, being both King World and CBS are owned by the same parent company, Viacom...I think I got that right.

 If I was a betting man, I'd say that seller won't see a nickel of that money.  Notice that the high bidder has the amazing feedback of zero.

As a seller of game show pix which sold for much more than expected, I have absolutely no problem when someone pays me 25x or more the amount I paid for a picture as long as the money arrives or the check clears.

 Wow!  I can't believe that it ended that high.  I have traded with the high bidder in the past.  He came through just fine.  So maybe he is as honest with his purchases as he is with his trades.
