Right, and if Pat Sajak should leave Wheel, Rolf Berneschke should be put on the list of candidates, since he has expierence, right?
And we may add Bob Goen as well, since he hosted the show, too.
Ah...Flight 149....to Clueville....right over your head.
Really? How hard was R&R Jeopardy! anyway, since I only saw a few shows of it?
You haven't seen enough of R&R J! to know whether or not it was difficult, and yet you've seen enough to know that Jeff Probst should be on the list of candidates to replace Alex Trebek?

If you're willing to have an open mind and not limit it to someone who has done game shows, a sportscaster such as Keith Olbermann might be able to handle the assignment.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.
But we shouldn't also forget that he's been featured in a few clues on Jeopardy!, and he's been on Celebrity Jeopardy! as well.
And that qualifies him? Cheech Marin has similar credentials, is he on the short list?

I'd say he's a possible candidate in the same way that 99% of the celebrity population with any modicum of fame and a clear speaking voice is a possible candidate, but I wouldn't say that his performance on R&RJ! would be enough to kick his resume into the shorter pile.

Only easy if you know popular music from the 60s-onward(I don't recall them asking much from the pre-British Invastion early years of the genre)

Here's a name we havent discussed: Mark L. Whalberg, I like his style on RR and I think he did well in the old brain teaser format of the Endgame. I think he could be good on a hard quiz like J!.
Aside from the spelling, I agree. Wahlberg really made "Russian Roulette" his own, with the right edge to his humor, keeping the game front and center and giving the right amount of drama to the end game. Given his resume, he doesn't seem, uh, classy enough for "Jeopardy!" but he could be good.

George Gray.  He was very well on Weakest Link mixing the right amount of humor and straight quizzing.  Anne Robinson had a little too much humor mixed in, which was also very insulting.  I guess Anne could do it though, but it would be hard to get her.

I'm also thinking Regis Philbin.  He had a very laid back style on Millionaire, but you could also tell he was trying to be a serious quizzer.  If he was a little less laid back, Regis could do Jeopardy also.

I promise you that if this group had existed in 1984, almost no one would have proposed Alex Trebek as the successor to Art Fleming.  (Some of us still have a hard time accepting him, of course.)  We would have pitched Jim Perry, Tom Kennedy, Jim Peck, and Geoff Edwards, but Alex would have been among the second tier of candidates at best.

As long as Sony doesn't go the other way and chooses a standup comic (or Alan Thicke, who has the advantage of being a Trebek buddy), it shouldn't matter much.  The host has to have some authority, and must be able to read questions rapidly without stumbling much.  (Which actually rules out Regis, who had a couple of pronunciation issues -- as if the fact that he's older than Trebek and based on the other coast didn't rule him out already.)

Wahlberg isn't a bad choice; neither is John O'Hurley (who would fit both qualifications), and Donny Osmond has proven a pretty good host over the last two years.

Graham Elwood proved on Cram he's not a bad question reader, maybe with a few more years to mature as a host like Trebek had before getting the J! gig, he could be considered.

But then you'd have to replace Bob Barker, a subject NOBODY on this board has ever posted about... :)

What about Kenny Mayne?  He did well on 2-Minute Drill, and I think his style would fit Jeopardy.

Tom Bergeron is out since he doesn't want to do any more game shows, so I'm thinking Marc Summers might do OK(unless he nabs the TPIR gig on Barker's retirement)

I'm leaning more towards Summers, myself...his work on History IQ and Wintuition proved that he can handle a straight Q&A show like J!, so he seems like a potential candidate, IMO. The aforementioned Kenny Mayne might do a good job, as well.

Think about Mayne's utterly deadpan delivery. David Duchovny or Ben Stein would be similarly intelligent choices.

Repeating the choice I made at the J! board, another sportscoaster who, like Cheech Marin, has won on Celeberity J!--Bob Costas.  There's a man who could read clues with authority.

I'll agree that John O'Hurley would also be a good choice.
