TPiR Top 10 Daytime Prizewinners
« on: March 02, 2004, 12:46:38 AM »
For obvious reasons, I recently undertook the task of compiling the Top 10 Daytime Prizewinners in the history of TPiR.   I know a list once existed on ATGS so I'm trying to spread it around on the net as best I can with an update.  I've posted it to G-R.net, but I'm sure alot of members here would be interested.  Here goes!

If you have a discrepancy, please let me know.  I would like to use this as the most "official," up to date Top 10 list found on the net.

Thanks to Jade Mills, Scorpz, and Temptation1979ga for confirmation on some of this this information.

THE PRICE IS RIGHT TOP 10 DAYTIME PRIZEWINNERS AS OF 3/1/04[/u]

Yesterday's win makes Amy the second highest winner in the history of CBS Daytime game shows, would it not(behind Michael Larsen)?

I trust you for that information, Zach.  :)

Interestingly enough, yesterday's episode of TPiR was NOT the highest winning episode in history.  The 30th Season Premiere still holds that title.

For the Primetime list, I think I can fill in a couple last names, through some ATGS searching, and various other sites.

Derone Rankin ($160,118)
Thomas Harrison Jr. ($127,660)
Angela Berg ($121,608)
Jeffrey Cochran ($105,792)

For the life of me, I forget the last name of the top winner from Bob's 80th birthday spectacular.  Oh well.

 Travis,

Thanks for the effort but I'm already confused on a few.  CBS.com lists Jeffrey as Jeffrey CORCORAN, and you have COCHRAN.  I knew Derone's last name, but I figured I wouldn't use them.

Daniel's last name was Mostad.

I figured I would just leave them go.

Since last night's Million Dollar Spectacular produced a big winner, the Top 10 Primetime list has been updated.  Peter from Cliff Hangers (MDS #3) has now been dropped from the list.

In the primetime list, the "notes" at the end say one of the 10 did not win a Showcase, but I see each of the 10 with an * next to the total and a showcase description of prizes.

Wait, Pushover was played for a Chrysler Concord?  I always thought that game was played exclusively for four-digit prizes.  Guess I was wrong.

They play it for a car a few times a year. They'll usually orchestrate the numbers on the blocks so as to make three possible rfive-digit prices a few grand apart when they play for a car.
