Sorry ladies, Goen's gone ...
« on: March 23, 2004, 08:44:08 AM »
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "Entertainment Tonight" anchor Bob Goen wed Home & Garden Television show host Marianne Curan in a private ceremony Saturday evening.

About 60 family members and friends attended the ceremony at a private residence in Southern California, said Goen's publicist Lee Wallman.

Curan, who hosts the HGTV show "Landscaper's Challenge," wore a dress she designed created by stylists Karen Mann and Kris Saints. Goen sported a custom-made cream sportscoat and camel slacks by designer Rick Pallack.

The ceremony was officiated by a friend of the couple, David Katzner, who was ordained online, Wallman said.

Goen's best man was his 9-year-old son from a previous marriage and the ring bearer was the couple's dog "Stogie."

It is the second marriage for both Curan and Goen.

Seems the man hasn't strayed too far from his game show roots.......;)

What the HELL are you talking about?

How interesting. I daresay this is the first wholly-GS-host (if you count Curan's work on the assorted GSN games and "When Did That Happen?", and why not) wedding since Betty White and Allen Ludden...and of course White's game came well after the fact.

The real sin of this is "Entertainment Tonight" has thus far wasted two whole nights on this thing when they could be talking about real stars.

Yeah, the extent to which folks dote on people who are not real stars, can be very annoying.

I might be falling into a "Sarcasm Trap" but Chuck Woolery hosted The Dating Game from 1998-99.

I figured it be a nice alternative to "Wheel" : )

No.  The Luddens married in 1963.  The Vans married in 1968.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Speaking of which, it's a surprise that GSN hasn't snatched up the rights to show the 1989-91 Bob Goen Wheel Of Fortunes from CBS yet. Or if they had, they never got around to rerunning them.

They may or may not have some daytime WOF shows, as has been reported in the past. Even if they did, I don't see them airing Bob's or ROlf's shows, as it's Pat most people recognize as WOF host(those 30 and up are old enough to remember Woolery hosting the show).

Robair, will you PLEASE SHUT UP!!!

Goen's wedding was big news for ET, knowing things were a bit slow for them over the weekend. And don't EVER get me started on whether or not that other show ("Access Hollywood", for those who care) sent their congratulations to Goen and Curan.

Besides, thanks to Conan O'Brien and SNL poking so much fun at the show as of late with its idiotic wordplay, obscene graphics, the scrolling ticker similar to the cable news channels', and of course the presences of Pat O'Brien and Billy Bush (their New York guy), Access Hollywood is 99.8% tabloid show and .2% news! No wonder why I've stayed far and far and far and far and far and far and far and far and far away from that show!! (Had to paraphrase Chris Benoit's "I'm gonna make you tap and tap and tap..." quote there)

Why the hostility?  Robair did nothing wrong.

No, I insist.  Did Access Hollywood send their congrats?  I ask because I want to say Access Hollywood until blood starts spewing from your ears.

Your above justification of Access Hollywood (Oooh, I think a vessel may blow soon!) being primarily tabloid makes absolutely no sense.  Glad to see nothing's changed with you over the years.

No, you didn't have to do that.  Seriously.
