Dream Job Bonus Round!
« on: March 26, 2004, 09:24:46 PM »
According to the USA TODAY (Friday), Sunday's finale of ESPN's Dream Job will feature a very interesting game show element that the producer refers to as "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire meets Press Your Luck."

After a winner has been selected on the Sunday finale, that person will appear on SportsCenter later that night for a chance to gamble with his or her new salary.  Starting with the $70,000 base salary, the winner will answer sports trivia questions.  A correct answer adds $5000 to the salary, but a wrong answer subtracts $10000.  The player can stop at any time.

I'm sure there are more details to it (surely there's an upper limit, for example) but especially if you like sports trivia, you may want to check out this unusual twist.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Perhaps the connection would be that if the Dream Job champ decides to continue, they will actually have to PRESS their LUCK to continue?

Yeah, that's it.

This is too good to pass up...

"It's a long fly ball... back to the warning track... looking like an easy catch..."

*Whammy sticks hand over rail and catches ball just above outfielder's glove*

"No!  A fan got it! Get him!"

*cartoony melee ensues, clearing the scoreboard*

...BOING!!!!
Solar-powered flashlight, hour 4 of the Today show, the Purple Parrots.  *rips open envelope, blows into it*
