For the week ending July 18, a whopping 11+ million people watched the KenJen winning streak. More info in these two news reports:

That's great, but whaddya wanna bet ratings will be down next year in year-to-year comparisons.  What can they do for an encore?
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Probably the first July stunt week they've done in some years (seems to me that they did the Seniors Tournament in July in some years in the 80s or 90s--or was it the Teen Tournament?).

"And our returning champion, Ken Jennings, with a 229-day total of $7,964,760"?

It's likely the only scenario which could get similar or higher ratings.

From 1989 to the mid 90s the Seniors Tournament were the last two first-run weeks of shows before the six or seven rerun weeks started in late July.

I was wondering what happened to those Senior Tournaments after 1995.  Maybe they should be re-instated for next year.  But, methinks Alex won't like that idea one bit.  Anyone know what happened to cause the termination of the Senior Tournament?

methinks you're talking out of your arse again. Explain why, or don't comment with your often useless prattle.

Advertisers want youthful demographics.  Alex enjoyed hosting those tournaments I recall reading.

The pressure for younger demos, pure and simple--and this was done while George Vosburgh was still running the show.
