  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

I saw a promo for this, and I remember this quote (or something to this effect):

"Did Love Connection get cancelled?"
Chuck: "No, it's just not on the air anymore."

As we all know, it's on GSN, but funny nonetheless.

First, J-Lo on Will & Grace, then Anna Kournikova on The Apprentice, now this.  Is it just me, or is NBC getting desparate this season?

ObGS: Chuck spent 14+ years at NBC hosting two gs's.

I don't see how this correlates with "desperation."

If a show--or an entire network--relies too much on big-name guest stars and/or other gimmicks, it's an obvious attempt to shake things up.  However, it doesn't work like it used to.  I think NBC realizes it's losing ground in the ratings to CBS--and ABC is catching up fast.

ObChuckGS: On Scrabble, "desperate" would probably have tripped up contestants as easily as "mosquito" did under the spelling format.  I keep wanting to spell it "desparate".

Hmmmm.... I can't say that I agree.  NBC have always had cameos on their higher profile shows.  I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud, but I guess I don't see much difference in what they are doing now than them having Tom Selleck on Friends a few years back.

I'm also not so sure how high Anna Pornikova ranks as a big-name star. She certainly isn't much of a tennis player.

This seems more like someone had a joke about Chuck Woolery they wanted to put in and said, "Can we get him?"  The answer?  Of course!
