Hey folks!

I already knew I'd been selected (after having to try out twice), but Friday I got the call to tell me about the taping date. I'm going to Montreal to tape on Saturday Feb. 19. I'll obviously post once I have the air date.

It's amusing, and a bit freaky, that the French-Canadian version of Twenty One will be my... twenty-first game show appearance!

Good luck, Charles...may you go on to become the Dave Legler of Canada. :-)

This is the week I make my twenty-first game show appearance. I show up in the contestant pool this Wednesday, March 16 at 6:30 PM EST on TVA (Canada). For those who follow the show every day, here's some spoiler space...

SPOILER:

Today on game 1, a new contestant will defeat the champion with a perfect 21.

Then on game 2, he will win with a perfect 21.

Tomorrow, he will win game 1 with... a perfect 21!

And on game 2, he will win his fourth straight game, again with a perfect 21!

Needless to say, none of us Wednesday players wanted to be plucked out of our seats and have to face this fearsome champion. There was one glimmer of hope, however: I had observed that he didn't always get 21 in two questions, opening the door to a risky defensive strategy. Will it pay off? We'll see on Wednesday, won't we?
