On the contrary, I think she has nice gams.  GSN-the Network for Gams.

I'd be willing to bet that your suggestion that the G-T library is more readily accessible is the correct reason.

GSN has always favored the GT library - even when they could air anything from Sony that they wanted.  Even in the beginning, such short-run GT shows like "Trivia Trap" (which I didn't even remember when GSN went on the air in '94) were on the regular schedule, while shorter-run shows from the other libraries never saw the light of day - until what some people refer to as "the Dark Period" occurred.

Personally, I think some shows they're not currently airing are just as good as some of the GT shows they currently are....but that's just me.

Then, the obstacle for airing Sony shows was not the rights--it was converting the tapes to DigiBeta.  GSN only wanted to spend the money if it was an A-list show (or if they had to, like the Dark Period.)  On the other hand, then as now, the G-T shows were all converted and there waiting to be plucked to put on the schedule.

Back when GSN first started, there were a few series that hadn't made it to their library because they weren't all converted such as Jim Perry's Card Sharks. There was a website that detailed how it took two and a half years to complete the 24/7 dubbing process of the whole library.
I wonder how much of Sony's library remains unconverted.
I could just imagine them still having to convert droves of episodes of Way Out Games and The New Quiz Kids.

The mid-September 1983-mid-November 87 episodes of CBS Pyramid and some of Bullseye's run(only the first and last 50 episodes were converted) are two series that come immediately to mind.

I loved the regular Bullseye as a kid but when they made it Celebrity Bullseye it ruined the show.

It always seemed to me (and some others, I'm sure) that adding celebrities was a last-ditch effort to save the show, and it almost never worked.

But celebrity episodes of game shows are excellent! Don't you love seeing J-list stars play average Joe game shows for charity?

Actually, the only ones I've really enjoyed are the All-Star Family Feuds (namely the Richard Dawson ones). From what I saw in the most recent run of TV Guides I've gotten (96 issues from 1978 to 1980), ABC put on a *lot* of those prime-time specials.

I wouldn't mind seeing GSN put some of those hour-long specials on again..

Feud, Perry CS(game show host tournament in particular, did not see the other tournament), and Password Plus(Kennedy's premiere week) would be the three shows that had the best celeb weeks.

Aired not long after the GS host tournament. Had celebs like Bill Daily, Marcia Wallace, and AVery Schreiber playing for charity.

Ah, OK. I'm assuming that's where the clip of Bill Daily running the cards (to the astonishment of Marcia Wallace!) came from.

I think that I'd be happy just having GSN show us what they have in the vault for us to offer and then have us go to an online poll and cast yer vote. If that doesn't work out, just let me in the vault for a few months converting anything I see onto DV tape or DVD. :) Just let me know first before I'm allowed in.... I need to get extra supplies from Wal-Mart :)

Running away from the vault guys with a TPIR fur ep :p
