TPiR DVD...
« on: June 21, 2005, 12:01:40 AM »
I was wondering if TPiR DVD is going on sale in July.  I have not seen it on Amazon or Circuit City.

Any update news?

As far as I know, all we've heard on this is the announcement that it was in the works and a street date is as yet unannounced.  I want to say that August was thrown around as a date of possible release, but I'm more than likely wrong.

I'm sure we'll see an announcement of a street date well before it comes out.

I have been out of the loop for a while. Since when is there going to be a TPIR DVD? What will it contain?

First off to avoid confusion, this TPIR DVD is actually a game disc, *not* a compilation of moments from the Barker show.   If you search the archives, there was a description of what the DVD Game was to be like.

As the DVD Game technology continues to grow out of its infant stages, it would be cool to see more game shows be developed into DVD-Games.  Password could be a good candidate as I'm sure there would be others just as deserving.

If you go to the Endless Games home page, you'll see in the middle window a collage of their products.  At the left-hand side menu options, move your mouse to "New Stuff," and keep it steady there (DO NOT click the option).  You'll then see in the middle window a guy with three games shown, one of which IS Password DVD.

There has been no official word from any source as to such a game coming out, but maybe there will be.

A few online stores are listing a Mid-August release of TPIR DVD game, BTW.

That box looks pretty sweet, now that they're using an official logo....The "JUST LIKE THE REAL SHOW!" is a little hokey and lame though.

My exact reaction. This is to be expected from Endless Games, however.

At the same time, step back and ask yourself, "Are you the demographic?"  In some ways, sure -- we're fans.

But to the average joe, if they see that they can play like the show on TV, it's a plus.  Believe me -- we've received calls just so people could get the SPIN ID puzzles if a WOF episode was missed.

As a person who plays board games of pretty much every variety? Hells yes I'm their demographic.

Seeing how the Wheel-obsessed around here behave, yes, I completely believe you.
