Thanks to the members who stopped to say "hi" (and share a drink) on their visits. Both Todd and I are looking forward to spending some time the golden-road gang over the coming Labor Day weekend.

Yes, the show moves to a great showroom at Harrahs AC on or about Nov 1st.

I'm so removed from the registration process that I can't comment on the use of nicknames. But I can tell you that, if it's vitally important to you, getting a Social Security card with an alternate name (same number) is not that difficult; the same holds true for driver's licenses in some states, California included.

As stated in the o ther thread, I SHOULD be there on Sunday or Monday of labor day weekend.   Do you need some form of ID to attend the show?  Wether you want to be a contestant or not?

General rule of thumb is to bring a form of photo identification be it a driver's license, state ID, or military ID.  And, of course don't forget the Showboat card, because if you don't get to hear the dulcet tones of Randy telling you to come on down, you might hear him tell you that you have 1000 or 5000 credits coming your way as he rattles off 5 names between each pricing game...guess that helps add up to the 50 some odd winners he bills at the top of the evening.

Question though for Randy or any of the other folks who have been to the show.  As I understand from the show I was at, the first item you bid on at registration qualifies you for the pricing games and wheel.  The second item you bid on qualifies you for the showcase.  So, I ask: Has it happened in the run of the show where a contestant appeared during one of the one bids/pricing games and the showcase?  Since conceivably there is the slim chance a person could have nailed both bids.

Another question about schedules.  Have they changed since september 1st?  I beleive Randy said Todd would be gone by Sept 15th, and Randy would be gone by Sept 30th.

I'm going to miss mark, and I would much rather see Todd than another name I don't know who might go after him, heh.

But the friends I invited along might only be able to go with us on the tenth or the 24th...

Thanks!

Todd's website still lists his dates from August 28 - September 9. Mark's site says he'll be hosting in September, but no specific dates are listed.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

With the disclaimers that the shows run together in my mind into a purple haze, and that a post from John Ricci or our occasionally-posting producer should trump my recollection, I'm pretty sure it happened at the 7PM show Wednesday. I called the Race Game contestant back to the stage for the showcase.

As someone whose profession requires him to ask others for their Social Security cards, I can back that up. Someone a couple of months ago had at least six of the things.

Really? They'll let you have more than one? I didn't know that, I thought they only let you have a single one. I should look into that, then.

I'm pretty sure that you're only SUPPOSED to have one. However, if you tell them the reason you're applying for a new one is that you lost the last one . . . (cough cough)

From what I saw looking at the form, they seem willing to issue a card with a different name (but the same number) on it only if I can produce legal proof that the name has changed, which takes us back to the name-changing thing. Which I don't want to do. You can't just say "I need a new card, and oh by the way I want it in this name." They want proof.

Well, it looks like I won't be getting a chance to see Todd host the show, as the friends I invited can't make it untill after the tenth.

Any word on when Marc will return in September?

As no "spoiler space" is needed for a live show, I'll just say that TPiR-Live again awarded "a new car" to a lucky contestant. At the 7PM show on Tuesday a lady approximately 60 years old missed the price of her showcase by only $40 and won it all! That's car #5 if my count is correct.

The golden-road.net webmasters and a number of their members will be visiting the 7PM show on Sunday; dinner with Todd and me will follow. If you're in the area, get tickets and "come on down"!

Hey Randy,

Have you heard yet of any TPiL schedule changes or extensions to the current AC show since the Harrah's chain of casinos in the South are all out of commission for the foreseeable future?

If they can't go South, how bout the Midwest, then? (St. Charles, MO or Joliet IL anyone?)
